Learning Outcome 3

When I read, I highlight and jot down what the main parts of what my highlighted points were, that way when I come back to look through it I can get information on what I’m writing about. When i was at the area to integrate my points that I found into my paper, this helps me understand what the important pieces that I believed were important to come up again. In Susan Gilroy’s passage she tells that to “take the information apart, look at its parts, and then try to put it back together again…” This is precisely what I do with what I highlight. I look back at it, read what I highlighted and wrote next to it, then make sure that thats the information I needed to connect to my ideas in my paper. Using this method I can understand what the text is telling me about my subject, and when I look back into the text to draw from it, all the main points that are needed or based on my subject are already highlighted.
